Topical Treatments

Topical Treatments can be applied after the cleaning process to help maintain your area rugs and to increase the life of the rug so they can be part of your décor for years to come. Master Cleaners only uses non-toxic, biodegradable products so they are safe for children and pets.

Fine Rug Protectant

A common misconception with protectant is that it can be applied once and last a lifetime.

To be effective, application of protectant should occur each time you have your area rugs cleaned, approximately every 12 months. When applied, the protectant forms a barrier around the fiber making the fiber more resistant to spills, sun fading and stains. It works very similar to that of vehicle wax. Application of vehicle wax to the paint must be done with reasonable amounts of time to help resist sun fading, stains and hard water spots.

Moth Treatment

When moths lay eggs, the eggs are imbedded into the wool fibers. When they hatch, the larvae immediately start eating the wool fiber leaving patches of missing fibers in your rugs. This usually occurs when rugs are stored for extended periods of time but can occur in the home.

One moth treatment is colorless and odorless but very effective when applied. It makes the wool fibers of your area rugs not taste very good to the larvae so the fibers are left alone and not eaten.

Deodorizer

Deodorizer can sometimes help with unpleasant odors in rugs caused by spills, pets, or bacterial growth such as mildew or dirt smell. In some cases, severe odors will need to be given additional professional attention. Some of the more mild cases of odors can be masked with deodorizers. Odor Removal

Odors are most commonly caused by spills. Soiled material produces an odor, or the odor develops from bacteria which is producing decay on the spillage. If the spilled material has not penetrated deeply into the fiber and thorough washing methods can be used, complete removal can usually be expected. The deeper the material penetrates into the fiber and the longer it remains, the more difficult it will be to remove completely.

Removal of odors will depend upon what is producing them and under what conditions they are treated.

Odors produced from materials such as animal waste are virtually impossible to eliminate completely. Master Cleaners uses special deodorizing equipment and freshening fragrances to reduce or to eliminate unpleasant odors from many sources. These include prior spillage, animal waste and mold, mildew or musty conditions.

Repair Examples

Machine Fringe

New machine fringe can make all the difference in the appearance of your rug whether your rug has worn out fringe or no fringe at all. Our repair specialist can help you choose the color and style that best suits your rug.

Hand Fringe

Our expert weavers can hand weave new fringe right into the ends of your rug. In most cases, we can even make the tassels of the fringe a specific length to your liking.

Blocking

Sometimes rugs become dimensionally unstable. When this occurs, they can be blocked just after our cleaning process and dried while tackled to our blocking floor. This will enable a rug to dry in place and be reformed back to its intended shape.

Cut in Rug

Sometimes accidents occur and your rug will require special attention.

Each repair is handled with the utmost care by our repair specialists. After the repair, a final inspection is done by our inspection team to ensure quality before it's released and ready for pickup.

Hand Wrap

If the sides of your area rug are worn out they can expose the cord or show snags. When this happens, a hand wrap in necessary.

Pick Up & Delivery

If you have larger area rugs that require pick up and delivery, or if you would simply prefer to have us come to your home or business instead of dropping them off, you won’t have to worry about getting anything ready. You won’t even have to vacuum.

Our service includes movement of your furniture and full inspection and measuring of your rug prior to us taking it for cleaning. It’s always a good idea to wash any area rug padding at the same time so if you’ve purchased padding from us, we’ll wash it at no charge.

Upon completion of services performed on your area rugs, our office will call and schedule a time for delivery. When delivered, we’ll lay down your area rugs and place your furniture back the way you want it.

Area Rug Padding

Master Cleaners has seen the worst and the best of carpet / rug padding. We offer several padding solutions to meet the needs of various floor surfaces.

Wundergrip

WunderGrip is the market leader in vinyl non-slip padding. Vinyl affords maximum gripping power and cushioning without the thickness of other pads. WunderGrip will not stain or discolor your floor and is washable. Open pattern construction makes vacuuming easier by allowing greater airflow, and lessens the chance of harmful mildew. Guaranteed for 20 years to maintain all non-slip properties.

WunderFirm

WunderFirm provides extra padding for thin, lightweight rugs. This underlay gives the feel of more body to the area rug and allows it to lay flat on top of grout lines, mortar joints, and warped hardwood floors. Constructed with a needle-punch top and nonskid backing, WunderFirm will not damage the floor or area rug. It is ¼” thick and reversible for rugs on top of carpeting.

WunderLock

Wunderlock is the premium product used for rugs on carpets, guaranteed to hold any rug on any carpet. Especially ideal for lightweight rugs, hurries, and high-traffic areas. WunderLock is manufactured with a special “dry” adhesive that is nontransferable. WunderLock is washable and foil backed for easier installation.
